  • What are the special installation precautions?

To exploit the full potential of your wine cellar, it is recommended to place the wine cellar at 2 cm from the ground, and to leave at least a 2-cm space on the sides of the unit and 10 cm at the back, for good ventilation.

troubleshooting

  • The device is not cold?

The unit will adjust itself according to the room temperature of the room, it will first display the room temperature and then adjust itself to the programmed temperature.
As the cellar has no heating function, if the room temperature is lower than the set temperature, the unit will encounter a malfunction and will not be able to reach the set temperature.
For this reason, we do not recommend installing the cellar outside or in a cellar.

  • My cellar makes noise, is this normal?

"A wine cellar is the most practical space for storing wine. Its role is to balance the temperature and humidity inside so that your wine does not lose its taste and aroma.
Due to these heavy operations, noises can be heard. Most of the time, these noises are normal.
Before calling the technical department for help, please read the following.

These sounds are quite normal: buzzing, rumbling, rattling, crackling...

When the cellar has just stopped working, a buzzing, rumbling, rattling or shrill sound may be heard. When the operation stabilises the sounds become less.

For direct cooling, a kind of irregular cracking, hissing, bubbling, cracking sound can often be heard when the compressor has been running for some time or has just stopped. This sound is caused by the relief of stress due to expansion and contraction when the temperature changes, and will not be affected by the normal application of the product.

The compressor consists of an electric motor and a compression device. Due to the heat produced during the compression of the refrigerant, it is possible especially in summer when the ambient temperature is higher that heat is emitted from the cellar. All these phenomena are normal.

To reduce some of the noises :
First of all, make sure that your cellar is on a flat surface.
The location of the cellar is important; do not put the cellar against the wall.
Bottles should be loaded properly to avoid unwanted vibrations.
The noise may come from the stirring fan, check that nothing is interfering with its operation.

use

  • Is it possible to control the inside humidity?

If the relative humidity is 60%, all cavist types are in the humidity range of 50% to 80%.
There is no automatic system to control humidity.
For thermoelectric cavist systems, it is possible to achieve the required humidity level of 50% to 80%.
For the ones with compressor, it includes a water tank to increase the humidity. If the room temperature humidity is less than 50%, the consumer may require adding water to the water tank.

  • Is it possible to remove the logo?

It is possible to remove the logo : to do so, it is necessary to heat up the logo (CAVIST) with a Hair Dryer and then, using a wooden or plastic spatula, try to delicately peel off the letters one after the other so as to not scratch or damage the door.

  • Is the cellar a service cellar or an ageing cellar?

It actually depends on your need.

A wine cellar is useful either for aging wine or for adjusting wine's temperature before serving it.

In general, wine is kept between 10° and 14°C, it is not necessarily enjoyed at this temperature! For example, an Alsace is best drunk at 10° C, a red Bordeaux will be best drunk at 17° C. As for champagne, it can be drunk very chilled!

For the service, the temperature is different:
    - Red Bordeaux wines can be tasted between 17 and 18°C.
    - Red burgundies between 15 and 16 °C
    - Lighter red wines between 11 and 14 °C
    - Champagnes between 10 and 12 °C
    - Dry rosés and whites between 8 and 10 °C
    - And finally the sweet white wines between 7 and 9 °C.

The cavist will allow you to either keep the wine for aging or to bring it to temperature for serving.
But not both at the same time, because only one temperature is adjustable.

On the contrary, the multi-zone cavist are multi-use. Because they allow you to age and preserve your bottles at the same time.

  • Why does my cellar work all the time?

  • Why can't I maintain the same temperature in both zones of a multi-use cellar?

In about 98% of cases, the cold "production" area is located in the upper part of the appliance. This is where the cold will be most intense. When needed, through an orifice and sometimes a fan, cold will be delivered to the lower part according to the demand of the internal temperature sensor. For this reason, there will always be a minimum difference of degrees between the two zones. In the remaining 2%, either the opposite can be found, or a system that works with a by-pass that allows the same temperature to be maintained in both zones up to a certain point (this can only be considered for low temperatures).
