troubleshooting

  • My cellar makes noise, is this normal?

It is normal for your wine cellar to make some noise as a result of its operation. Here are some explanations of common noises and the steps you can take to reduce them:

Buzzing, rumbling, rattling, creaking: These sounds are often heard when the wine cellar starts or stops working. They are usually normal and are part of the temperature control process.

Cracking, hissing, bubbling: These sounds can occur during operation of the direct cooling compressor. They are caused by the expansion and contraction of the refrigerant in response to temperature changes. They should not affect the normal operation of the wine cellar.

Compressor Heat Emission: Due to the heat generated during the compression of the refrigerant, it is possible that your wine cellar may emit heat, especially in warm weather. This is also considered normal.

To reduce this noise, you can take the following steps:

Make sure your wine cellar is placed on a flat surface to avoid unwanted vibrations.
Avoid placing the wine cellar directly against the wall, as this can amplify the noise.
Load bottles into the wine cellar correctly to avoid excessive vibration.
Check that nothing is blocking the circulation fan, as this can cause additional noise.
By following these tips, you can reduce noise and ensure quieter operation of your wine cellar.

  • Doesn't the appliance get cold?

If your appliance does not produce cold, this may be due to the following reasons:

Room temperature setting: Your wine cellar is designed to adjust itself according to the room temperature. It will initially display the room temperature before adjusting to the set temperature. If the room temperature is lower than the set temperature, the appliance may malfunction because it cannot reach the desired temperature.

No heating function: It is important to note that your wine cellar is not equipped with a heating function. Therefore, if the room temperature is lower than the set temperature, the appliance will not be able to reach the desired temperature, which can be considered as an anomaly.

Inappropriate installation: It is not recommended to install the wine cellar outside or in a cellar, as this may influence the room temperature and affect the cooling performance of the appliance.

It is recommended that you check the temperature settings of your appliance and ensure that the room temperature is adequate to allow the wine cellar to reach the desired temperature.

  • Why does my cellar work all the time?

If your wine cellar is running continuously, this may be due to several reasons:

High ambient temperature: If the ambient temperature of the room where the wine cellar is located is high, this may cause the appliance to run continuously to maintain the desired temperature inside the cellar. Make sure that the room is properly ventilated and that the ambient temperature is not excessive.

Poor insulation: Poor insulation of the wine cellar can lead to temperature leaks, forcing the appliance to run continuously to compensate for these losses. Check the wine cellar door and seals for air leaks.

Overloading the storage capacity: If the wine cellar is overloaded with a large number of bottles, this can lead to heat build-up and overloading of the cooling system, which can result in continuous operation of the unit. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's recommended storage capacity and not overload the cellar.

  • Why can't I maintain the same temperature in both zones of a multi-use cellar?

The difference in temperature between the two zones of a multi-use cellar is usually due to the way the cooling system is designed. In most cases, the upper zone of the cellar is equipped with the main cold source, while the cold is distributed to the lower zone through an orifice or fan.

This means that the upper zone, where the cold source is located, will tend to be colder and maintain a lower temperature than the lower zone. The internal temperature sensor regulates the cold supply to the lower zone according to demand, but there may be a slight difference in temperature between the two zones.

In some cases, the cooling system may be designed to maintain the same temperature in both zones. However, this is more common for low temperatures, as in the case of temperature controlled wine cellars.

If you notice a significant difference in temperature between the two zones of your multi-purpose cellar, it is advisable to check that the cellar is correctly loaded, with an even distribution of bottles in the two zones. Also ensure that the temperature settings are appropriate and that the cellar door is properly sealed.

  • Useful info

Here is some useful information about filling your wine cellar:

Bottle size: Your wine cellar has been designed ideally for 0.75 L Bordeaux bottles. Make sure the door closes properly when storing larger bottles. It is important to check that you can close the door without hitting a bottle.

Cooling time: If you store several bottles at once, it will take longer to cool them down. More bottles in the cellar can affect the cooling efficiency. Take this into account when organising your bottles.

Variations in capacity: Because bottles can vary in shape and size, the number of bottles you can store in the cellar may differ. The maximum number of bottles shown is based on the standard shape of a 0.75L Bordeaux bottle. Please take these variations into account when filling your cellar.

By following these recommendations, you will be able to optimise the use of your wine cellar and preserve the quality of your bottles.
